Weekend at Sentosa
It was our very first weekend trip away from home. Kinda of felt 'funny', cos we're still 'home' - Singapore, juz across a small expanse of sea and there we were, on the other side of the island.
We stayed 2 nights at Rasa Sentosa. A very crowded weekend, with bus loads of korean tourists. They look fairly different from the stars on TV series, most of them had small eyes, and not as stunning as those on screens, at all.
I always grade a hotel based on its breakfast spread, here, quite satifactory, got my sausages, cheese, yougurt and muselie. But Chong would only be truly happy with hot fresh made omelette, which they do not serve here. They only had sunny side up ones.
Mum and brother came over on Saturday morning, wanted to catch Nathan swimming for his very first time. But none of them was changed, only mum and boy played in the water together, while the rest stood by, laughed and took videos and photos. We bought a dougnut float for him, far too big for his size, and he couldn't see the water when he was inside the float. So I took him out instead and let him sit on my lap, he was engrossed with his surroundings, gave a look that says ' what a huge bath tub...' I supposed. He looked really cute in his swim wear, hope to bring him again. Think he'll enjoy himself more when he gets more independent.
It was a good trip, except for the haze. It hit more than a 100 on the Sunday we checked out. We had to go to church anyway, and didn't spend much time outdoors. Shopping at Vivo City, the newest and largest shopping mall at World trade centre. Many shops were not open yet, and there was renovation works everywhere. Quite unpleasant. My poor darling was hungry and I couldn't even find a place to sit down to nurse him. There were just too many people everywhere, even on a friday afternoon. Where did all these people come from?? Everyone's on half day leave??
Still, the highlight was seeing Nathan get dressed for swim, which was only a 15mins deep in the water. And we managed to take some family shots, thanks to my mom, by the beach. Come to think of it, those were our very first family shots since the last one at ICU in the hospital.
