A good long weekend

Nothing quite new about the boy.

Friday, Chong took the afternoon off and we had lunch at merchant court market cafe. We actually met Edwin Lee there, apparently, he had a meeting that same afternoon. They're expecting a girl in Nov. Then, the three of us had a nice stroll at Clarke Quay, somewhere we hadn't been for a long time. The weather was near perfect, slight drizzle and cool. How the place has changed. Chong wanted to look for his Isrida tie shop, but was no longer there. The shops look chic and trendy. We should try go down again someday to have lunch. Night time is not conducive for families. Nathan slept through the entire walk in the pram, so we had an undisturbed time together.

The next day, Sat, after lunch at granny, we head down to West Coast park. The place has changed quite a bit, the sea area was all fenced up, probably some upgrading project. We had cakes and coffee at Mac Cafe.

Dinner at Serangoon market. Satay, fried dumplings, roti john and sugar cane drink, a good variety of unhealthy but chiok food.

We explored a new eating place which claims to serve Australia fresh fish at Mad Jack Cafe down Bt Timah rd. The fish was good, tender on the itself and crispy on the outside. Service and environment was friendly for families too. Next, shopping at Sheng Siong! The goods there are really cheap, much better pricing compared to even NTUC. We always head for the cereals and diapers there. Chong got his sensor excel blades for half the price. Nathan was fussing alot during the shopping trip, so we couldn't stay longer.

What surprised me about this weekend was we managed to accomplish alot of tasks. Besides our weekly jogs, swim and housework, we even had time to nap and patronize parks. I thought it would be so nice if dads are given 4.5 day work week once a month to have family time together. If the govt were to be more proactive in this area, many more babies could have been born, perhaps?

Many people think babies are troublesome. But with good days as such, babies aren't really the deciding factor yet. We did go places we wanted to, with or without the babe. And Nathan has acdded so much fun and laughter to our lives, needless to say. Granny was playing with him while we had dinner. She had so much fun too. She laughed more than the baby did, in fact.

Of course, when Nathan starts crying, no one wants him, not even the dad or mom sometimes. All stay away. On good hours, everyone surrounds the adorable creature.
