A Horrid night

I mentioned in my blog just yesterday how well Nathan has been sleeping past 3 nights, and then on the 4th night, he gave me terror.

He was unusually active at night. Perhaps due to the late excursion we had at the supermarket? We reached home by 10p.m. and soon gave him his milk and changed him into his pj. His eyes were still wide opened with no sign of tiredness, we sat down and watched American Idol. By 10.45pm. I thought it was way past bed time, 'let's proceed to the room.'

Nathan was still happily tossing around, playing on our bed. Chong was fast falling asleep, I sat Nathan in his cot. A moment later, he started crying. I took him up, cuddled him and tried to nurse him to sleep. But he refused milk! He just wanted to be carried. So, I painfully stood and rock him to sleep, it was 11.30p.m by the time he went into merry land. I laid down to rest.

At 2.30a.m. he woke up with a sharp cry. It made me jump out of bed. I carried him up instantly. He looked fine, perhaps a bad dream? tried to nurse him back to sleep, but he wouldn't. Another round of rocking, thought he fell alsleep, but the instant I placed him down on his cot, he started crying again. Think this went on for at least 3 times before he finally slept, that was 3.30a.m. Then, thankfully, he slept through till 8 in the morning.

It was nights like this that made me really frustrated. Doubled up the trouble when Chong starts snoring. Here I am suffering, there, daddies having a great dream. I had to calm myself down and be reminded that he's got to wake early and work the next day, whilst I could take my naps.
Sigh, may God be extra gracious towards mums.
