Foods ...
Been reading up Ruth Yaron and another bk borrowed from the library about baby food, the different types to offer them at each stage of growth, what to look out for while buying them, and its storing and cooking methods, plus, lots of stuff about nutrition. If I had a second career, it must be food related, I have since become more interested, and I thought these information's really useful, even while preparing adult food! Like washing the veg drain the nutrients away, eating brown rice has multiple benefits and steaming is always preferred to boiling less frying.
Latest introduction of food is carrot. He doesn't seem to like the taste very much although I have specifically bought the sweeter baby carrots, maybe becos I've mixed the millets in, taste more blend. He enjoys all fruits, like avocado, banana, papaya. He esp love banana cereal, has it for breakfast almost every morning. He can eat as much as 5 table spoons of it, and never seem tired or full. But some moms have commented that bananas are real cause for constipation. Papayas saved the day last weekend when he constipated for 4 long days, and finally on the fifth day, he pooed 4 times!
I worry for him whenever his bowels's not smooth, cos Chong n I are particularly regular with our bowels. We make an effort and a habit to release every day, get rid of the toxin in our system is certainly better health.
Water should do the trick, but little boy hates water as if drinking down medicine. Not sure if it looks like his med first three months when he had reflux. Hopefully he gets better taste of it soon. Haven't tried juices yet, since i'm quite sure he will have no problem gulping that beverage down in no time. Any sweet is tasty, yes, like mommie, sweet tooth.
Going try more veg for him, like green beans and aspargus, even prepared brocoli, but save that later in case it causes wind in his tummy.
Been fun checking out foods, and feeding him is always enjoyable. Seeing him open wide his mouth to take each spoonful of nutritious food makes my heart very glad. And he is growing well, hit 9kg last night when daddie weighed him, but fairly inaccurate, plus and minu 1,2kg.
Thank God for everything.
